What is TicketBAI?
In order to prevent tax fraud, the Basque Government together with the Foral Tax Authorities (Haciendas Forales) developed the TicketBAI project, a new system designed to monitor the income of all companies and self-employed individuals in the Basque Country, regardless of their size. This project includes a set of legal regulations that apply to all business sectors, implying tighter oversight of organisations' revenues.
Every piece of income received by a company must have a unique file linked to each invoice or ticket, which must contain the information required under this new regulation and be submitted to the Tax Authority within the stipulated deadlines.
Among other things, TicketBAI means that all companies in the Basque Country must take a step forward in their digital transformation, digitise all their sales processes, and adopt business management solutions that incorporate this new invoicing regulation.
